Before you start

Pure Gloss Pro 9H is designed for professional detailers and experienced enthusiasts. It should be applied only when you have a clean, dry, well-ventilated working area, strong inspection lighting, enough uninterrupted time and the equipment needed to complete the job safely.

Gather the essentials

  • Pure Gloss Pro 9H and the current supplied instructions
  • Compatible coating applicator
  • Several clean, edgeless microfibre towels reserved for separate tasks
  • Suitable wash, decontamination and paint-preparation products
  • Polishing equipment only if correction is required and you are competent to use it
  • Protective equipment specified by the label or safety information
  • Bright, movable inspection lighting

Control the environment

Do not apply to hot paint, in direct sunlight, in a dusty space or where condensation and water exposure cannot be controlled. Temperature, humidity, airflow and panel temperature all influence how a coating spreads and flashes.

Surface preparation

  1. Inspect before washing.Note scratches, oxidation, water marks, previous protection and sensitive trim. Agree on realistic expectations before work begins.
  2. Wash thoroughly.Use a safe pre-wash and contact-wash method with suitable automotive shampoo. Clean panel gaps, badges and edges, then rinse completely.
  3. Remove bonded contamination.Use compatible chemical decontamination and, where needed, a properly lubricated clay process. The surface should feel smooth, but avoid unnecessary marring.
  4. Correct paint where appropriate.Coating can make existing defects more obvious. Polish only to the level that is safe for the paint and appropriate for the intended result. Seek a professional if you cannot assess paint thickness or machine-polish safely.
  5. Perform the final panel wipe.Remove polishing oils and residue with the approved surface-preparation method. Use fresh towels, inspect from multiple angles and avoid touching prepared paint with bare hands.

Work methodically in small sections and inspect every area under controlled lighting.

Application

  1. Prepare the bottle and applicator.Follow the label. Keep the bottle closed whenever it is not being used, load the applicator sparingly and replace it if it begins to harden or drag.
  2. Apply to a small section.Use controlled overlapping passes to achieve thin, even coverage. Keep product out of unapproved surfaces, panel gaps and seams.
  3. Observe the flash.Do not use a generic internet timer. Look for the visual behaviour described in the product instructions and account for the actual temperature, humidity, airflow and panel temperature.
  4. Level with dedicated towels.Use the towel sequence and timing stated in the instructions. Turn to clean faces frequently and use light, controlled passes rather than pushing residue into adjacent sections.
  5. Inspect immediately.Move the inspection light and view the section from several angles. Look for darker patches, oily smears, rainbowing or missed edges before moving on.

Final inspection and curing

Complete a full-vehicle inspection before leaving the work area. Check body lines, panel edges, mirror bases, door handles and the borders between working sections. If a high spot is found, use only the correction method appropriate to its stage of cure.

Protect the vehicle from water, dew, dust and other contamination for the minimum period stated in the current instructions. Full cure depends on the product and conditions. Do not substitute a universal time taken from another coating.

Aftercare

  • Wait for the stated cure period before washing.
  • Use suitable automotive shampoo, clean wash media and clean drying towels.
  • Wash from cleanest areas to dirtiest and avoid unnecessary pressure.
  • Do not use automatic brush washes or abrasive wiping.
  • Remove bird mess, insect residue and mineral-rich water promptly and safely.
  • Use only compatible maintenance products; unknown toppers can alter visible water behaviour.

Troubleshooting

Smearing during levelling

Check towel cleanliness, section size, product loading and environmental conditions. Stop applying new sections until the previous one is even and clear.

High spots or dark patches

Reinspect under stronger light and follow the product-specific correction method. Do not improvise with aggressive chemicals. A fully cured defect may need controlled polishing and reapplication.

Poor water behaviour after curing

First check for wash-product residue, mineral deposits or incompatible toppers. Water behaviour alone is not a complete durability test. Contact support with preparation details, conditions and photographs.

Unexpected product condition

Do not continue if the liquid, applicator or installation behaviour appears inconsistent with the instructions. Close the bottle, isolate the area and contact Pure Gloss.
