Product questions, answered plainly
Use this guide to decide whether Pure Gloss Pro 9H suits your vehicle, experience and working conditions. Ceramic coatings reward careful preparation. They do not make paint scratch-proof or remove the need for safe washing.
Choosing the coating
What is Pure Gloss Pro 9H?
It is a 50ml ceramic paint-protection coating for automotive surfaces. When the surface is correctly prepared and the coating is installed and cured in line with the supplied instructions, it is designed to enhance gloss, create hydrophobic water behaviour and make routine cleaning easier.
Who is it best suited to?
It is intended for professional detailers and experienced enthusiasts who can work methodically in a clean, dry, well-ventilated space. First-time users should read the complete guide before opening the bottle and consider professional installation if paint correction, controlled application or high-spot removal is unfamiliar.
What does “9H” mean?
9H is a hardness designation commonly used in the coating category. It does not mean the vehicle becomes scratch-proof, stone-chip-proof or immune to poor washing technique. Safe maintenance remains essential.
Will it remove swirl marks, scratches or water spots?
No. A coating protects and enhances the surface beneath it; it does not repair existing defects. Visible defects should be assessed and, where appropriate, corrected before application.
Can I apply it to any exterior surface?
Use it only on surfaces approved in the current product label and technical instructions. If a surface is not clearly listed, contact Pure Gloss before applying and test compatibility in an inconspicuous area where appropriate.
How much area will a 50ml bottle cover?
Coverage depends on vehicle size, applicator loading, technique and whether approved additional surfaces are coated. Avoid assuming a fixed vehicle count; plan the job around the current instructions and apply a thin, controlled layer.
Preparation and application
Why is preparation so important?
The coating bonds to the surface that is present at installation. Wax, polishing oils, bonded contamination and paint defects can reduce consistency or become locked beneath the coating. Thorough washing, decontamination, correction where needed and a final approved panel wipe are the foundation of a professional result.
Do I need to machine-polish the vehicle first?
Not every vehicle needs the same level of correction, but the paint should be inspected under strong lighting. If swirls, oxidation or bonded water marks are visible, suitable correction is usually recommended before coating. Machine polishing carries risks; use a qualified detailer if you are not confident.
What environment should I work in?
Use a clean, dry and well-ventilated workspace within the conditions specified on the label. Avoid hot panels, direct sunlight, dust, condensation and uncontrolled moisture. Good inspection lighting is essential for finding residue or high spots.
How large should each working area be?
Work in small, manageable sections so you can maintain even coverage and level the coating at the correct point. Panel temperature, humidity and airflow affect behaviour, so do not coat an entire panel at once unless your experience and the product instructions support it.
How long should I wait before levelling?
Follow the current label and observe the coating rather than relying on a generic online timer. Flash behaviour can change with temperature, humidity, airflow and panel temperature. Level at the stage described in the product instructions; waiting too long can make residue difficult to remove.
What is a high spot?
A high spot is excess or unevenly levelled coating that can appear darker, oily or rainbow-like. Inspect each section from several angles with bright lighting immediately after levelling. Address it using the method in the product instructions; fully cured defects may require polishing.
Curing and maintenance
When can the vehicle get wet?
Protect the vehicle from water, dew and environmental contamination for the minimum period specified in the current product instructions. Cure times vary by formula and conditions, so use the supplied guidance rather than a universal number.
When can I wash the vehicle?
Wait until the stated cure period has passed. Afterwards, use a careful contact-wash process with suitable automotive products, clean wash media and drying towels. Avoid aggressive chemicals, automatic brush washes and abrasive wiping.
Does ceramic coating prevent water spots?
No. Hydrophobic behaviour helps water move from the surface, but mineral-rich water can still dry and leave deposits. Remove standing water promptly and avoid allowing hard water to dry on hot paint.
Does it eliminate the need for wax or maintenance products?
The coating is the primary protection layer, but it still needs correct maintenance. Use only compatible products and follow the current aftercare advice. Avoid layering unknown products that may mask water behaviour or interfere with inspection.
How long will the coating last?
Real-world durability depends on surface preparation, application, curing, mileage, storage, climate, wash method and chemical exposure. Any durability statement should be read alongside the current product instructions; maintenance and use determine the result.
Orders, safety and support
Is the product safe to use?
It is a chemical product and must be handled responsibly. Read the label and current safety information before use, wear the specified protective equipment, provide ventilation and keep it away from children, ignition sources and incompatible materials. Do not begin if you do not understand the precautions.
How should I store an opened bottle?
Close it promptly and store it exactly as directed on the label. Exposure to air, moisture or unsuitable temperatures can affect performance. Do not use material that has changed unexpectedly or is outside its stated usable condition.
Can my order be a pre-order?
If an item is being sold as a pre-order, that status should be shown during the purchase journey. Availability and dispatch information can change, so check the product and checkout messaging and contact support before ordering if timing is critical.
What is the returns window?
The current refund policy asks customers to request a return within five days of delivery. Eligibility, condition requirements, exclusions and the return process are governed by the full policy. Read the refund policy before sending anything back.
How can I get help before applying?
Email sales@puregloss.co.uk or call 07961 915429. Include the vehicle, surface condition, working environment and the question you need answered. For order support, also include the order number and purchasing email.
